Well - it was in October of 1998 months ago that I asked if there were any mailing lists for web developers in San Diego. I didn’t get much response. http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=an_401671745

What I was looking for was something in the manner of WWWAC from New York http://www.wwwac.org or NoEnd or Craig’s List from the Bay Area http://www.craigslist.org/ or Web405 from the Los Angeles area http://www.web405.org/ … but nothing was forthcoming.

On moving here in March I figured I’d start a list. And thus, WebSanDiego was born http://groups.google.com/groups?selm=an_456597456 . It’s grown since then to be a fairly active little community of webheads - sometimes chatty, sometimes funny, almost always informative. We have over 70 subscribers, and growing steadily. We have perl scripters, writers, designers, graphic artists, hobbyists, professionals, web hosts, students, and more!

Along the way I’ve compiled a list of similar organizations here in the San Diego area - more than I thought existed! - WTF, WebGrrls, AIP and more. For the list see: http://www.websandiego.org/blog/other-tech-groups-and-resources/

And for more on WebSanDiego and its activities see:

If you’re a web developer - or just know one - please spread the word about WebSanDiego!

Thanks very much for your time, attention, and indulgence,

Joe Crawford [ list-owner / WebSanDiego ]
